Classroom Rules and Procedures
In addition to the rules and policies stated in your Student Handbook, please be aware of the following classroom rules and procedures as pertain to this class:
1. Entering the classroom: Be on time to class and ready to work. Come prepared to class with your dry erase markers, highlighters, paper, pencil, textbook and workbook. Be seated in your assigned seat (make sure your cellphone is turned off) and prepared to begin bellwork by the time the bell rings.
2. Leaving the classroom: You may pack up your belongings and ensure that you have all the necessary class information. Remain seated quietly until class is officially dismissed when I say “Adios clase, y que tengan un buen dia.” (Goodbye class, have a good day.)
3. Be respectful and considerate of others. In order to create and maintain a positive learning environment, we must treat each other with respect and courtesy at all times. Disrespect towards myself or your fellow classmates will not be tolerated.
4. Respect the property of others and the property of the school. (No writing on desks, walls or causing other damage to property).
5. Raise your hand and wait to be acknowledged before speaking. Do not disturb the class by talking to your classmates at inappropriate times or making unnecessary or offensive comments. This disrupts the teaching process and the learning environment.
6. Gum, food and drink (other than water) are not permitted. It is difficult to enunciate (pronounce) clearly with anything in your mouth and because the purpose of this class is to learn to speak Spanish, your classmates and I must be able to hear your best effort every time you speak.
7. Dress code policy. Please refer to pages 10-11 of your student handbook for the specific policies on Sabino’s dress code. No hats are allowed inside the buildings. Remove your hat before entering the building.
8. Turn off your cellphone during class.
